What is HMN ?
- Health Metrics Network Bangladesh
- A new global fund has been created at the WHO head quarter, Geneva to assist further development of health information system in countries. The name of the fund is Health Metrics Network (HMN). Bill Gates Foundation, UNICEF, USAID, CDC, DANIDA, DfID, EC, Government of Thailand, WHO, WB, UNFPA, GFATM, GAVI, etc. contributed to make & operate the fund. This is a global competitive fund and the interested countries require submitting application against specific project proposal for receiving the fund. The first round of competition was held in September 2005, where Bangladesh (MOHFW) participated. Bangladesh is one of the few countries which were successful to have their proposals approved by HMN Board. Applications for second round of fund were invited in June 2006. However, the first round awardees will not be eligible to compete in second round.
